A 10 cm lead ends in a full-size HDMI socket in a grey aluminium shell, so the monitor's or projector's own HDMI cable plugs straight in. It replaces the HDMI port that thin laptops and MacBooks no longer have.

A laptop with HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C will not plug straight into a monitor or projector that only has VGA or HDMI.
