UGREEN USB 3.0 to 4x USB 3.0 Hub, Easy USB Port Expansion
Product Description
The UGREEN CM473 is a USB 3.0 hub that expands one port into four USB 3.0 ports. It is a plain port-expander for desks that run out of sockets, with 5Gbps ports so drives and peripherals are not held back.
Slim laptops and busy desks rarely have enough USB ports for every device. The UGREEN CM473 USB hub turns one USB port into several ports. It is made for laptop and desktop users who have run out of USB ports.
Key Features and Benefits
- USB standard: USB 3.0; older USB devices can still be used.
- 4 x USB 3.0: connect a keyboard, mouse, flash drive and external disk at once.
- 5Gbps ports: fast enough for external hard drives and card readers.
- Aluminium body: retailer listings describe an aluminium housing that helps with heat.
Made for Life in Nairobi and Across Kenya
Connect a keyboard, mouse, external hard drive and phone to a laptop on a shared desk in Nairobi, or add ports to a desktop PC at the back of the shop.
Buying and Setup Tips
- Check the type of port on your computer (USB-A or USB-C) before choosing.
- For hard drives, use a powered hub or a port with enough power.
- Plug high-speed devices into USB 3.0 ports for best results.
- All four ports share the 5Gbps bandwidth, and bus-powered hubs share the host's power, so a power-hungry drive may need its own supply.
Who It's Perfect For
- Laptop users with limited ports
- Offices with shared desktops
- Students and remote workers
- Shop and counter setups

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it slow down my devices?
Speed is shared among connected devices, so heavy transfers on several ports at once will each run slower.
Can I connect a hard drive?
Yes, as long as the hub can supply enough power for it; a powered hub is safest.
Can I use a portable hard drive on it?
Yes, a USB 3.0 portable drive works, but its speed is shared with whatever else is active on the hub.
Does it charge my laptop?
Do not rely on it. It is a USB expansion hub, so charge the laptop through its own charger.
